Personal Biography Statement

Dr. Michael A. Erskine is a graduate of the Computer Science and Information Systems PhD program at the University of Colorado Denver. He received his M.S. in information systems from the University of Colorado Denver and his B.S. in computer information systems from Metropolitan State University of Denver. His research interests include geographic visualization, decision-making, disaster information management and educational technologies. His work has been presented at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) and the International Conference on Information Resources Management (ConfIRM) as well as published in Axioms.

In addition, Michael has taught 22 courses at three institutions at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Topics for these courses have included business problem solving, operating systems and business web page development.

Furthermore, as Interim Director of the Educational Technology Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Michael oversees all technologies found in physical learning spaces, leads numerous technology implementation projects, such as media storage and academic computing environments, and provides design guidance for various technology processes.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys scuba diving, sailing, mountain biking and hiking.
